Microsoft's Legal & Corporate Affairs (LCA) team supporting Microsoft's Worldwide Services organization has an immediate opening for an attorney. The position is located in Redmond, Washington. This is a unique opportunity for an attorney to join the LCA team. Microsoft Services is the consulting, technical support and customer service arm of the world's leading software company. Microsoft's services are designed to help our customer's reduce risk and accelerate deployment through Microsoft consulting and support services. Microsoft Services is truly a global organization with services offered in more than 8o countries and 40 different languages. Unlike other parts of Microsoft, which focus on one product, the Services organization is dedicated to the accelerated adoption and productive use of ALL Microsoft technologies. Primary Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities will include: providing general legal support to the other attorneys on the team, providing legal advice to business clients, developing support programs and offerings and related agreements and advising and training business groups on a variety of commercial matters and topics as needed. In addition, working with the other attorneys and paralegals on the Services legal team to provide comprehensive legal services to all levels of the supported businesses, including development of process-related improvements to facilitate and increase the efficiency of legal services.

Qualifications: Successful candidates must have a J.D. from an ABA accredited law school, excellent academic credentials, and a minimum of 2 years experience as a practicing attorney. Experience drafting and negotiating a broad variety of agreements concerning the development, licensing, or ownership of software and online services, related intellectual property, or other commercial goods or services and/or law firm experience is a plus. They must also have excellent analytic, legal drafting and oral and written communication skills; They must possess a strong client service focus and the ability to work efficiently, prioritize workflow, meet demanding deadlines, and manage multi-dimensional projects in a fast-paced and uncertain environment; They must be effective in driving cross-group projects and collaborate well with colleagues; and The desire and ability to work as part of a team.
